Tell us about yourself!

I am from Rwanda, Kigali. I spent my childhood in the rural part of Rwanda, where my exposure and interest in agriculture began. I started learning about sciences and technologies used in agriculture from high school through STEM education. I am currently a junior with a major in Integrated Science and a minor in Natural Resource Economics. I am learning more about conservation agriculture and natural resources conservation and have grown an interest in conservation policy. I like policies because of the order and economic prosperity they provide when effectively made by considering all factors like scientific evidence. Besides my interest in policy, I enjoy journaling, reading, and watching Netflix.

What made you excited to be a part of the Cultivate ACCESS Program at UNL?

I value mentorship and connection, and it was exciting to be part of a program that meets my interests and provide opportunities to share my experiences to motivate students to pursue their interests in STEM education. It is exciting and transforming to connect and create a relationship with fellow ambassadors as well as scholars and mentors.

What are your future goals?

After college, my goal is to get into a graduate program in agricultural and resource economics. Studying agricultural and resource economics will be the ultimate step to learning more about agricultural and resource policy and achieving my career goals.
