Career Choice as a Child: As a child I was only aware of careers such being a pilot, doctor, engineer, accountants, agronomist, etc. and I wanted to be one of those.

Favorite book: The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Favorite thing I've learned related to STEM: Nearly 97% of the world's water is salty or otherwise undrinkable, 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers, and only 1% for humanity's needs such as agriculture, residential, manufacturing, community, and personal needs.

Tell us about yourself!

I have been born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda with two parents and two siblings. STEM has been the core foundation for my education, and it has enhanced passion for science in general. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, watching short videos and movies, and painting occasionally. My passion for agriculture arose when I was in high school through the career fair that exposed me to different careers and by undertaking agriculture related project.

What made you excited to be a part of the Cultivate ACCESS Program at UNL?

It's exciting to be part of the Cultivate Access program as a liaison of mentors and scholars because I value mentorship and , and I have personally experienced a great impact from having mentors since high school. I want to help scholars identify their passions and recognize the impact they can make within STEM.

What are your future goals?

My future goals is to pursue a graduate school. I want to enhance the use of nutrition and policy to minimize the risk of diseases and malnutrition in developing countries.
